This is a companion website to the Substack, “Casino Cognition” a newsletter with essays about:
- Casino gamblers’ strategies for—and beliefs about—winning,
- How they work (or why they don’t),
- And how the study of “decision making in the wild” informs the scientific understanding of rationality (and irrationality) as framed by behavioral economists and cognitive psychologists studying judgment and decision making.
This companion website has two purposes:
- To provides useful background and context for Substack posts, such as game basics or definitions for specialized terms
- To organize Substack posts into a larger story about gamblers’ strategies and beliefs about winning and how they inform—and are informed by—decision science.
